location: NY
location: NYC
format would let people not in the US block out all USA-specific things by filtering out one tag, rather than having to filter out all of:
location: USA: NY: New York City
location: USA: NY: Upstate
location: USA: CA: Los Angeles
... etc, etc, etc.
